multiplier event

On Thursday, January 20, 2022 in Nicosia, a public presentation of the project "Creation" was held. The event was aimed at local stakeholders, adult educators and workers who directly support immigrants and refugees and marginalised groups of women, as well as the general public.

There were two keynote speeches made:

The first, by the project coordinator, Ana Margarida Ferreira, Associate Professor at IADE-UE, a senior researcher at UNIDCOM and coordinator of ID:Co. Portugal. Dr Ferreira via an online Zoom session, introduced the project scope and results, addressing the need to provide more opportunities for migrant and refugee women to expand their business opportunities and to create better prospects for independent work and integration into their host communities. She also presented the open access online learning platform, developed as part of the project outputs, aimed at adult educators wishing to promote a pedagogical framework for education in cultural and artistic entrepreneurship.

The second keynote speech was made by a senior project manager at the Cyprus Handicrafts Center, Mrs Maria Anaxagora, who presented the "History, development, challenges and future of Cypriot Crafts". A vivid presentation of recent trends and initiatives like workshops to maintain folk art traditions and bring them to a contemporary context for fashion design purposes, was performed.

Everyone seemed to benefit from the conference. There was substantial engagement and interest in the presentations and follow up discussions and Q and A. Following the conference, participants continued to contact the HUB NICOSIA team and asked for further details on the project and intellectual outcomes, such as the elearning platform and open access modules for trainers.
